The Lead — what the 9 days tell usEl Titular — lo que dicen los 9 días

Cycle 41 (room 16868 stretch) is the new lead character. The May 8 EC-collapse story has partly resolved — Cycle 40 stacked into ripening properly (substrate EC 5.25 mS up from 1.98 in the prior audit, hottest zone hitting 8.72 mS) and Cycle 39 ran a textbook flush (runoff EC 0.66 < substrate 1.00 < feed 1.19, EC pulled to ~1.0 mS as committed) — but the new stretch cycle is repeating the under-steered pattern. Brittany's lights-on VPDs are right where they should be (1.04 on Cycle 40), but Michael's feed EC and shot sizing in 16868 are insufficient for stretch: 60-second shots at 2 GPH × 2 emitters deliver ~0.27 gal/shot ≈ 3% of substrate volume (target 6–10% for stretch in coco). The drain-ratio anomaly (13% → 80% over the last 3 days while DFI fell) is consistent with the elevated drip-drain station bias flagged on May 8, or it's channeling — either way the EC stack cannot build. The window to course-correct on Cycle 41 stretch is closing. Owner (Michael) actions: triple P1 shot duration in 16868, push feed EC to 2.6–2.8. Grower (Brittany): raise lights-on VPD in 16868 to 1.0–1.2. Process: resolve the AUTOMAIT runoff-threshold blocker so recipe 147112 can go live on Cycle 42.Ciclo 41 (16868) es el protagonista nuevo. Brittany: subir VPD luces-encendidas. Proceso: resolver bloqueo AUTOMAIT.

Drip EC on Cycle 40 now 2.94 mS (up from 2.10 mS in 6-wk audit) — commitment overshot in a good way; substrate stacked to 5.25 mS room mean, 8.72 mS hottest zone. Cycle 41 stretch still under-fed: drip EC 2.51 mS (target 2.6–2.8 for stretch), substrate stuck at 2.07 mS. Cycle 40 recovered: now 3.7 shots/day (back inside 3–5 target), drain ratio 13.8% (low edge of 20–30%) — stack building correctly. Cycle 41 (16868) has the opposite problem: 5.0 shots/day looks right on the count but shot duration is still 60 s (target 180–240 s for stretch in coco), so P1 cannot reach FC + first runoff. Late-window drain ratio paradoxically climbed to ~80% — reading more as a channeling/elevated-sample-station artefact than over-irrigation. Cycle 39 flush: 1 shot in 9 days (deliberate, correct for Wk9 flush).Ciclo 40 recuperó: 3.7 tiros/día, 13.8% drenaje.

Drain ratio anomaly on 16868 (~13% → ~80% in 3 days while DFI halved) is the exact signature of elevated-station sample bias when total drip volume drops — the station catches a disproportionate share of total drainage. Cycle 40 13.8% / Cycle 39 3.0% / Cycle 41 21.0% absolute ratios all read plausibly per phase, so the bias is intermittent. Confirm on next on-site visit.

Cycle 41 (16868) is the headline failure: lights-on VPD 0.92 kPa vs 1.0–1.2 kPa stretch target, with 6.2 hrs/day of VPD-stress off-band. RH at 66% vs 59–63% target. This is the smoking gun for why dryback won't deepen and EC won't stack. Mom + Veg rooms (12407, 12408) are running 5–8°F cooler than mom/veg target with VPD also stuck low. The May 8 finding that "Brittany lowered VPDs (good) but feed EC was not pushed up to compensate" is repeating itself one cycle later in 16868. DIF inversion is no longer the headline (down from 29/43 days in the 6-wk audit to mild positive +1.1 to +1.3°F across flower rooms now — Brittany's overnight setpoint fix landed).Ciclo 41 (16868) es el fallo principal: VPD luces-encendidas 0.92 kPa vs objetivo 1.0–1.2, 6.2 h/día fuera de banda.

What the HVAC signals mean — and what to size forQué significan las señales HVAC — y qué dimensionar

Inverse DIF (lights-off warmer than lights-on). The 6-week audit flagged 29 of 43 days with negative DIF in Cycle 40's room. That's down sharply now — the 9-day window shows mild positive DIF +1.1 to +1.3°F across flower rooms. For coco bulking and early ripen specifically, a 2–5°F drop into the dark period drives generative cascade (cold-night metabolite drive). Brittany's overnight setpoint fix appears to have landed; hold the new schedule.DIF inverso: ya no es el titular.

Diurnal swing >8°F. Symptom of undersized cooling or canopy heat-trap. None of Burly's active flower rooms exceed 5°F here, so this isn't the constraint right now — but 12406 (empty turnover) and 12407 (mom/prop) show 6°F swings worth checking once they're back in active steering.

Substrate-vs-air delta. Substrate warmer than air during lights-off is the lever for "is HVAC actually pulling heat out of the media or just out of the room?" Cycle 41 (16868) shows substrate +1.4°F above air at night — mild root-zone heat hold consistent with the elevated RH. Cycle 39 +1.6°F is borderline; worth flagging once Cycle 40 turns over and Cycle 42 stretches into its own generative window. Ciclo 41 +1.4°F, Ciclo 39 +1.6°F — vigilancia.

BTU sizing rule of thumb. Plan ~4.5 BTU/hr per LED watt × total fixture wattage + 15–25% headroom for CO&sub2;-enriched rooms (enrichment adds plant metabolic heat and dehum load via higher transpiration). For Burly's UCL 600 + under-canopy ~660 PPFD + CO&sub2; setup, that's ~3,600 BTU/hr/m² canopy in active flower — check per-room cooling spec against this floor when Brittany re-tunes setpoints for Cycle 42.Regla práctica BTU: ~4.5 BTU/h por vatio LED × potencia total + 15–25% margen para salas con CO&sub2;. Para UCL 600 + under-canopy + CO&sub2; de Burly: ~3,600 BTU/h/m² en flor activa.

Cycle 41 in 16868 is showing the classic May 8 chain repeating: VPD lowered (0.92 kPa vs 1.0–1.2 target) drops transpiration drive, plant can't pull enough water to deepen dryback or build the EC stack, runoff cycle goes runaway in the last 3 days as the plant slows further. Coupled mom + veg rooms (12407, 12408) have a milder version of the same problem: cool + humid + low VPD suppresses growth in the cycles that should be growing hardest. Cycle 40, Cycle 39, and the rockwool moms (12403, 12404, 12409) are showing climate + irrigation aligned. VPD-stress hrs/day Hours per day VPD sits outside the phase-target band. Substrate-air coupling Substrate temp > air during lights-off means HVAC isn't pulling heat out of media — roots stay warm, transpiration drops overnight, dryback gets stuck. 16868 substrate +1.4°F over air; 12404 +1.6°F. Irrigation Shot-Cycle Audit · P0 / P1 / P2 / P3Auditoría del Ciclo de Riego · P0 / P1 / P2 / P3

All irrigation strategy at Burly is framed in the AROYA 4-phase day. P0 — Activation is the wait between lights-on and the first irrigation (target 1–3 h depending on phase; long P0s deepen dryback for generative steering). P1 — Ramp-up is small frequent shots ~15–30 min apart bringing the substrate back to field capacity and producing the first runoff. P2 — Maintenance holds VWC at FC and manages substrate EC via runoff (minimized in generative phases). P3 — Dry-down from the last shot to next morning — the primary steering lever. For Cycle 41 stretch in 16868, target shape is short P0 (2–3 h), 4–6 short P1 shots in first 2 h, minimal P2, deep P3 to drive 20–30 pp overnight dryback.

Zero computed alerts fired in 9 days — same finding as 6-week audit (zero in 6 weeks); guardrails are still too looseCero alertas calculadas en 9 días — mismo hallazgo que la auditoría de 6 semanas; límites aún flojos

AROYA dashboards read "green" in 16868 even while substrate EC sits below feed and dryback runs under stretch target. The reason: pore_ec target_min on flower phases is still 3.0 mS, soil_moist alert_max is still 77, and flush pore_ec target_min is still 1.0. Substrate EC can drop to 3.0 mS and AROYA shows green; overnight dryback can collapse from 25 pp to 5 pp without firing any alert. Same shape as the 6-week findings: config guardrails are configured for "not broken", not for "actively steering".Límites todavía flojos — pore_ec target_min 3.0, soil_moist alert_max 77 — AROYA muestra verde mientras EC sustrato cae debajo de alimentación.

Michael 16868 · Cycle 41 Wk 2–3 stretch
Triple P1 shot duration: 60s → 180–240s per shot; 4–6 shots in first 2 h after P0 ends. Drop P0 delay to 2–3 h. Push feed EC for this cycle specifically to 2.6–2.8 mS (currently 2.51).
Plant needs to hit FC + first runoff in P1 to anchor stretch and build the EC stack. Current sizing won't get there — classic 'shots too small' diagnostic per the irrigation-strategy framework. Combined with the negative stack delta (−0.44 mS), this is the highest-leverage move in the window.
Michael 12403 · Cycle 40 Wk 6 Pump/Ripen entry
Hold current irrigation; the stack-up is working (5.25 mS substrate up from 1.98 in 6-wk). Plan ripening pull-back for Wk 7: drop feed EC to 2.0 mS, target substrate EC 6–8 mS through ripen, allow runoff to climb to 15–25%. Deepen dryback to 25+ pp into Wk 6 ripening.
Cycle 40 is the proof case that the May 8 commitments work when actually implemented. Continuity here protects yield + smoke quality.
Brittany 16868 · Cycle 41 stretch
Raise lights-on VPD into 1.0–1.2 kPa (currently 0.83–0.92). Drop RH setpoint 4–5% (currently 66–70%, target 59–63%), OR raise air-temp 1–2°F if HVAC has headroom. Re-check DIF setpoints — lights-off should run 2–5°F cooler than lights-on for generative push.
VPD is the climate lever; without it the irrigation strategy can't land regardless of Michael's shot-cycle changes. Fix climate first, watch irrigation for 5–7 days, then adjust feed/shot.

Schedule the missed AUTOMAIT install visit. Resolve the May 6 2026 internal-consult runoff-threshold blocker first. Flip recipe 147112 live on 16868 first for Cycle 42 onwards.
P0-Critical project. Manual 13-phase template can't ratchet recipe per-phase like AUTOMAIT can — the Cycle 41 lead failure is a textbook case where AUTOMAIT's sensor-triggered stack control would have caught it before drain-ratio went runaway.
Michael Recipe guardrails · all flower phases
Tighten per-phase pore_ec target_min: Stretch → 5.0 / target_max 12.0; Bulking → 3.5 / 7.0; Ripening → 6.0 / 8.0; Flush → 1.0 / 4.0. Tighten soil_moist alert_max to ~10 pp above target FC. Set alert_min to (target_max − target_dryback − 5 pp).
AROYA dashboards currently show green when EC is critically low and dryback is collapsing. Zero alerts in 9 days (and 0 in 6 weeks before that) is a config failure, not clean operations.
Process Drip-drain station · facility-wide
Confirm under-table mount on all drip-drain stations on the next on-site visit. The 16868 13%→80% drain-ratio anomaly is the elevated-station sample-bias signature when total drip volume drops — consistent with the May 8 finding.
If elevated, the 16868 drain anomaly may be a sensor artefact rather than channeling/over-irrigation. The strategy fix is the same (deeper P1 shots, more frequent) but root-cause attribution differs.
Process CO&sub2; facility setpoint
Investigate facility-wide CO&sub2; setpoint or per-room config. 4 of 8 rooms running 1500–1900 ppm (target 1000–1200, alert_max 1500), including empty turnover room 12406 still being enriched. Either one setpoint is wrong or multiple rooms are mis-configured.
Enrichment in empty 12406 is wasted gas; +400–700 ppm above target in active flower rooms is approaching photosynthesis-saturation ceiling and may correlate with the elevated RH observed.
Process CO&sub2; sensor service · 12407 + 12408
Service-tech visit on 12407 (CO&sub2; reading capped at 5000 ppm — sensor saturation) and 12408 (CO&sub2; reading 0 ppm — offline). Likely EE894 calibration or wiring.
Can't validate the enrichment program or set per-room targets while two veg/mom rooms can't be trusted to report real CO&sub2;.
Michael 12409 substrate config
Set 12409 substrate type from GENERIC to ROCKWOOL in AROYA. Different physics (FC 60–85%, zero CEC, extreme steerability, low forgiveness) means different alert bands.
Stock Moms #3 is on rockwool; running it on generic-soilless targets means salt-buildup risk goes undetected. Per project rules, never recommend big infrequent shots in rockwool without flagging salt buildup — current config can't enforce.
Michael Recipe template · Cycle 42+ stretch
Restore the 'Anchoring (Heavy DB)' phase in the 13-phase template between Veggie Tails and Wk 1 Transition. Heavy P3 dryback (25–35 pp on coco) at the very start of stretch is what anchors generative steering.
Without it, root anchoring at the start of stretch is left to chance. Cycle 41's failure here is the textbook case for why this phase was in the original 18-phase template.
Brittany 12407 + 12408 climate
Raise lights-on air temp 4–5°F in 12407 and 12408 (currently 73–75°F, mom/veg target 78–81). Lower RH 5–7% (currently 75–77%, target 70–75). VPD will follow into the 0.8–0.9 kPa band.
Cool + humid + low VPD in the mom/veg rooms suppresses growth in cycles that should be growing hardest. Feeder pipeline to flower cycles depends on healthy moms and vigorous Veggie Tails.
Process 12410 cure climate
Lower cure VPD into 0.7–0.9 kPa (currently 0.92) for terpene retention. Drop temp or raise RH to compensate.
Cure is running slightly fast — matters for Cycle 38 smoke quality and the upcoming Cycle 39 entry into dry on 2026-05-24.

Data Quality & CoverageCalidad y Cobertura de Datos

Coverage is computed on room-mean rollups from get_raw_data format=stats at 1-hour bin (480 hourly points per room over 9 days = 100% nominal coverage). Per-zone breakdowns preserved server-side in MCP cache. Per memory rule, AROYA gaps <8 hr are acceptable. No detached-tab incidents during the pull. All irrigation events in the window are irrigation_manual — confirms AUTOMAIT is not enabled. Computed-alerts and journal endpoints both returned empty arrays. RIEGO-EE / Spanish-Sentry artefacts were filtered out (per memory rule — those belong to Driscoll's, not AROYA).Cobertura calculada sobre roll-ups de sala (480 puntos/9 días = 100% nominal). Sin incidentes de pestaña desconectada. Todos los eventos son irrigation_manual → AUTOMAIT no habilitado.

Notes: All 8 rooms returned full data on the 1-hour bin. Cross-HG event attribution required disambiguation between the registered flower room and the veg-room inheritance pointer (see events/12404_hg150144.json notes). The AROYA OpenCLI bridge ran sequentially per memory rule — no detached-tab events. spa_get_computed_alerts and spa_get_journal for the window both returned empty arrays. RIEGO-* Sentry alerts were excluded (belong to Driscoll's raspberry-farm irrigation telemetry, not AROYA).Notas: Las 8 salas devolvieron datos completos en bin de 1 hora.
