Over-drying here costs bulking weight directly and explains the cohort's scattered pore EC (4.0–8.3 mS): rooms with the deepest drybacks (F13 @ 36.8 pp, F21 @ 37.1 pp) are also the ones stacking EC above the 4–7 mS bulking ceiling. Rooms F2 and F20 run only 1.5–1.9 P2 pulses/day — start there.
Grower All flower rooms — standardize P1 onset per phase
Pick ONE P1 start time per phase recipe (e.g. lights-on + 60–90 min in bulking; + 120–240 min in stretch/ripening) and program it identically in same-phase rooms
First-shot clock time spreads 1.6 h across bulking rooms (08:23–09:58 ET), 2.0 h across early flower and 2.5 h across ripening — and the average room moves its own onset ±1.4 h day-to-day (Mom 1 ±3.5 h, F16 Veg ±3.2 h, F23 ±2.8 h). This is the single clearest "irrigation consistency" lever: same phase, same recipe, same clock. Rooms F13/F21/F4/F12 already hold ±0.8–0.9 h — use their controller programs as the template.
Grower Same-phase rooms — normalize max VWC (field capacity return)
Audit P1 shot count/size in the low-peak rooms (F2 @ 55%, F11 @ 57%, F23 @ 48% daily peak VWC) — same-phase rooms should return to FC within a few pp of each other
Daily peak VWC spreads 20.3 pp across the bulking cohort and 22.6 pp across early flower. Either the low rooms never refill to FC (P1 under-shot — too few/small shots, or channeling on the slab face), or substrate/probe seating differs. In rockwool (FC 60–85%, zero CEC, low forgiveness) a room peaking at 55% is leaving steerable range on the table. The ripening cohort proves the deck can hold a 6 pp spread.
Grower Ripening cohort — cut P2 pulses for a generative finish
Reduce P2 maintenance pulses in ripening rooms (F22 runs 6.6/day, F19 5.2/day) — generative finish wants P1-to-FC then a hard P3, with P2 minimized
Ripening drybacks are landing 29–38 pp (target 25–35 — the best cohort on the deck), but mid-day P2 pulsing partially refills what the P3 dry-down is trying to earn. F24 and F9 (2.4–3.1 P2/day) show the leaner pattern. Also restack check: F9 pore EC at 9.04 mS is above the 6–8 mS ripening band; F5 at 4.82 is below it.
Owner Per-phase steering principles — one-page recipe card per phase
Adopt the §8 phase ladder as the facility's controller spec: stretch = generative (dryback 20–30 pp, P0 delay 120–240 min, EC stacking 6–12 mS) · bulking = vegetative (12–18 pp, P2 defends FC, EC pulled back 4–7 mS) · ripening = generative (25–35 pp, EC restack 6–8 mS)
Phil's ask was "overall steering principles for each phase." The observed data shows the team steering generatively in every phase — correct intent in stretch/ripening, over-applied in bulking. A written per-phase recipe (P1 onset clock, shot size, P2 count, target dryback in absolute pp, target pore EC band) turns the principle into controller programming and makes next cycle's audit a pass/fail per room.
Process Will Tobin — runoff data review path
Schedule the runoff review: commission drain/runoff sensors (or run a 1-week manual runoff log: volume in vs out + runoff EC per room) against the 20–30% bulking runoff target
No runoff volume or runoff-EC series exists in facility 4412's telemetry, so this audit cannot grade runoff %. The bulking cohort's EC scatter (4.0–8.3 mS) is exactly the signature runoff data would explain — under-runoff rooms stack, over-runoff rooms leach. This closes Will's open 2026-05-26 commitment.
Process AROYA telemetry — re-verify HG roster + fix flagged zones
Re-pull the live HG roster (browser session was down this run) to confirm phase boundaries, and re-seat/replace the flagged substrate sensors (dead-VWC zones in NY F16 Veg, pegged/flatlined zones listed on room cards)
Phases in this report are projected from the 2026-05-27 HG roster by date arithmetic — accurate to ±1 week but not live-verified. Flagged zones were excluded from room means, so the numbers are clean, but every excluded zone is a blind spot on the slab it serves.

  • HG roster is the 2026-05-27 cache, projected +14d by date arithmetic — the browser session to app.aroya.io was down this run, so harvest-group names, flip and harvest dates were NOT live-verified. Phase labels are projections from cached flip/harvest dates (rooms harvesting during the window are labeled ripening). Treat phase boundaries as ±1 week until re-verified live.
  • Shot counts and P1/P2 cadence are DERIVED, not measured — a "shot" is a VWC step-up of ≥0.8 pp between consecutive ~9-min samples on the zone-mean series. No flow-meter or valve-event telemetry was available. Counts are reliable for rhythm/consistency comparison; absolute shot sizes (% of substrate volume) are not graded.
  • No runoff series exists in the public_api chart payload for facility 4412 — runoff % and runoff EC cannot be graded. Will Tobin's runoff data review (open commitment) needs drain-sensor commissioning or a manual runoff log.
  • P1 onset clock times are America/New_York (EDT). Lights-on is estimated from each room's mean diurnal air-temp ramp; where that estimate failed, P0 delay is suppressed rather than reported wrong, and P1 onset (clock time) is used as the consistency metric.
  • Daily dryback (absolute pp) = daily peak VWC − the following pre-irrigation low on the zone-mean series, averaged across the window. Per AROYA convention, never expressed relative to field capacity.
  • Dry / storage / quarantine rooms excluded — IDs 18591, 18552, 16409, 17182, 17183, 17184, 19436.
  • Zone-level sensor flags — flagged zones (pegged pore EC, dead/flatlined VWC) are EXCLUDED from room means and listed on each room card; e.g. NY F16 Veg carries dead-VWC zones this window.
